Amerika. The promised land where the changes of building a new life are great. That is how many people from Europe thought in the beginning of the last century. Many  realized their dreams and packed everything they had in order to travel across the Atlantic to America. In the light of this trafficThe big shipping lines emerged: Cunard, Hamburg-Amerika linjen Thingvalla linjen og White Star line which all competed on transporting the ever groving stream of emigrants. Larger ships was necessary to fulfil the needs. Therefore the White Star line decieded to build Olympic, Titanic og Britannic.
